Confused about something? Well, before you ask around here, make sure that your question hasn't been answered here.
Anyway, this is just some basic information. If I find a good question, or something that's asked more than once, or I just want to explain something so that I'm not asked it, It'll go here. ^^ So, I give you...
THE IRON SEA'S FAQ!
GENERAL INFORMATION
ABOUT THE IRON SEA AREA
Q. Where is the Iron Sea?
A. The Iron Sea is in an alternative earth, in a medival setting. I guess it would be North of the Equator - roughly where Europe is. The world stretches for miles - however, the furthest area away that's roleplayed in is the Island Kingdom of Panserbourne. This roleplay focuses mainly on the Sun Kingdom, Moon Kingdom, the islands and the Iron Sea Area.
Q. Is there any technology, and if there is, what sorts?
A. There is a great amount of knowledge on the planet, leaving forth to early technology. I suppose you'd have reasonable techonlogy - gunpowder and all that jazz. I don't want lightsabers, computers and rifle guns, just... keep techonology as simple as possible. Basically, keep the medival feel to it with simple techonology.
Q. What about food? Wouldn't the predators eat their prey?
A. Actually, part of the Ancient Law (see below) says that "those of different teeth must live side by side", meaning they can't eat eachother. Of course, there is plenty to eat - fish, fruits, vegatables and plants and herbs, as well as crops. But, as well, there must be meat about. So, farmers can keep SMALL, quadruped farm animals. These are just like the pigs we would have in our universe. Therefore, everyone's happy.
Q. What is the currency in the Iron Sea area?
A. There is two methods of paying, or two "currencies" - just it depends on how rich your character is. Most people, peasants, farmers and the like, buy products by trading. This means that, say, a chicken farmer could swap two or three hens for a pig for his family to eat. Otherwise, you pay in Kathrez. The Gold Kathrez is the largest, with a sun imprinted on the middle. This is worth most. Second comes the Silver Kathrez, imprinted with a moon. The coin of least worth is the Bronze Kathrez, imprinted with a star. Both methods are accepted anywhere in the region. Most of the money, however, that poorer families gain goes towards taxes.
CHARACTERS
Q. What are "anthropomorphic animals"?
A. *ahem* Okay, official dictionary.com entry...

Basically, it's when you gave human traits to an animal, e.g. walks on hind legs, talks, wears clothing... basically lives like a human does. The anthros we use here are "furry" anthros, which keep their fur, tails, ears, and natural traits.
Q. How many characters can you roleplay?
A. Ten characters to an account. If you want more, kill off one of your current characters or ask an admin if you may create another account.
Q. Can you roleplay any animal you want, or is there a species list?
A. Yes, you can pretty much roleplay any animal you want - most mammals, reptiles, birds and amphibians. However, you're NOT allowed to play prehistoric animals, fish, invertebrates (eg. bugs, crabs) or strictly aquatic mammals (eg. dolphins and whales), as these are hard to turn into anthros. The only exception to the "aquatic mammals" rule is mammals which live on both land and water, like otters. Otherwise, you're fine. ^^
Q. My character's a half-breed, e.g. weasel/rat, tiger/lion etc. Is that allowed?
A. Yes, but only with permission from an Administrator or Global Moderator, as half-breeds aren't as common in the Iron Sea Area. If we give you permission, type out a profile and we'll check it out and it will be approved as normal.
Q. Can my character be an unusual colour, e.g. purple, pink, red etc?
A. Unless it's in it's natural colour range, NO. Not sure, PM me and I'll find out. Otherwise, NO. However, I will allow albino animals - creatures with white fur and pink/red eyes. However, these require special permission to roleplay as they are quite rare in the Iron Sea Area, so PM an Admin or Global Moderator for permission.
Q. Can my character have wings?
A. If it's a bird or a bat, yes. Otherwise, no. Although this is fantasy, I'm trying to keep the animals as realistic as possible. Bats and birds are the exception. Birds can use their wings as arms as well, as can bats, but I will allow some exceptions. However, if your character can GLIDE through the air with flaps of skin (eg. as flying squirrel), that is allowed. Otherwise, NO WINGS.
Q. Can I roleplay a character before it's approved?
A. No. We need to check it out to make sure it's all in order and abiding the rules before it's approved.
Q. Huh? Where did my profile go? I posted it in the Character Approvals...
A. xD Don't worry. It probably just means it's been approved and moved to the appropriate area in the Great Scroll. It's still there, don't worry!
Q. Huh? My profile was rejected? WHY?!?
A. We've probably told you in the reply to your character profile. If you break a rule, if it's too short or there are too many spelling/grammar errors, it'll be rejected, and we'll tell you what you did wrong. Just correct your mistakes, post a message that it's fixed, and we'll check it again.
